Community Service
Please consider getting involved with the Community Service team! We do many terrific projects throughout the year, involving our pre-schoolers to benefit local organizations, including Cradles to Crayons, Sandra’s Lodge and the other women’s homeless shelters in Waltham, and The Home For Little Wanderers, to name a few.
If you are interested, please contact Julie Callahan or Beth Ross.
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT LIST:
Ongoing:
Senior center lunches: Every month we have lunch with the seniors at the Muzzey Senior Center from 12-12:30. Each month we have a different theme, including valentine cupcakes in February and May Day baskets in May. Approximately 35 seniors attend each month. 2nd Wednesday of each month
Birthday Wishes : Community Service takes donations of cake mixes, cake pans, frosting, paper supplies, decorations, crafts, juice boxes, and goodie bags to put together Birthdays in a box for parties of 15 children. Boxes are then delivered to Birthday Wishes, an organization that puts on birthday parties for homeless children.
Meals on Wheels: Every Friday we deliver meals for the Meals on Wheels program. The drive lasts about an hour and starts at 10:30 am. This is a great activity to do and you can bring your child with you. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Carrie Pitts.
Betsy, a young volunteer, delivers a meal to local resident Mary Beinar.
