Lexington’s 300th Anniversary

Lexington’s official nine-month celebration will conclude with a host of special events taking place over Memorial Day weekend, 2013. You can enjoy one day in town, or the whole weekend!

Saturday, May 25, 2013 — Discovery Day, Clock Dedication, and Sealing of the Time Capsule

Sunday, May 26, 2013 — Old-Time Baseball Double Header

As part of our town tradition, merchants bring some of their finest offerings out into the open air. Local musicians play. Community groups have a chance to share their recent work. Tasty treats await you! Then head over to Depot Square for the dedicaton of our new Town clock and sealing of the time capsule, which won’t be reopened until Lexington’s 350th Anniversay (2063)! ”Take me out to the ball game!” Come on down to the baseball and softball fields by Lexington High School on Worthen Road and enjoy a double-header of America’s favorite pastime.

Monday, May 27, 2013 — Memorial Day Parade, 300th Anniversary Concert

Morning Parade: Doff your hat as our community gathers to honor those who have served our town and our country though America’s wars. We will gather near Cary Hall and make stops at each of the town’s war memorials, from the front of Cary Hall to the Battle Green.

300th Anniversary Concert – We are Lexington

The 300th Anniversary Concert: We are Lexington – will take place on Memorial Day evening, Monday, May 27th in Lexington High School’s Donald J. Gillespie Auditorium. Tickets for the event will cost $10 for Lexington residents and town of Lexington employees. Click here to download a ticket request form. Forms are also available at the Town Clerk’s Office and Cary Memorial Library. Performers include The Lexington Symphony, The Lexington Bi-Centennial Band, The Lexington Pops Chorus, and the Master Singers

11:30am: Kick Off Opening Ceremonies, God Bless America & National Anthem with Police and Fire Honor Guard, WW II Plane Flyover
12:00pm: First Pitch
12 — 1pm: Essex Team vs. Lexington Baseball (LB)
1-2pm: Essex Team vs. Lexington’s Finest (LF)
2-3pm: Lexington Baseball (LB) vs. Lexington Finest (LF)
4pm: Regulation Game: Lexington Blue Sox vs. Andre Chiefs
*Entertainment in between each game

LOCATION: Hayden Lower Field, Worthen Road, Lexington, Massachusetts
TIMES: 7pm – Join us as a VIP for the night when you purchase a Table!**(VIP Table includes an Open Bar from 7-8pm, hors d’oeuvres and entertainment)

Club Shake It is a pop up, Studio 54 style club, operating for just one night. Club Shake It is an adult evening of dancing, bidding, cocktails and light food, with one of New York City’s top DJs, Sir Shorty, brought to you by COMPASS for kids, the Club Shake It Committee and our sponsors, in support of COMPASS for homeless families, a program of COMPASS for kids.
