Kindergarten Connection

imagesFall 2015 Kindergarten To-Do List

  1. Sign up for Kindergarten Connection and meet new friends!
Kindergarten Connection is a playdate-based program of LexFUN! that enables you and your child to meet other Kindergarteners and their families at your school over the summer – it’s a great way to ease the transition in the fall with some familiar faces. Everyone is welcome to sign up!
    To sign up, visit www.lexfun.org/kindergarten.
  2. Register your child for kindergarten!
Fill out the forms in your school registration packet mailed to you from the Lexington Public School and bring or mail them PRIOR to your kindergarten screening appointment. (If you haven’t received your school registration packet, please contact your elementary school directly.)
Schedule your child’s Kindergarten screening at http://cloud.ptcscheduler.com/LPSkindergarten/

    Screening dates:
Bowman: April 29 and May 1
Bridge: April 13 and April 14

  3. Attend the Kindergarten Parent’s Panel on Wednesday, May 20th from 7 to 9 pm at the Cary Library. LexFUN! presents an evening of discussion and Q&A with parents of current Lexington Kindergarteners. From what supplies to buy and daily routines, to food services and whether to bus, walk or drive to school, our panelists are available to answer all of your questions about the Kindergarten experience from a parent’s perspective, and maybe a few you didn’t even know you had!
  4. Kindergarten Visiting Day is Thursday, June 4th for all 6 elementary schools.

Sign up for LexFUN!’s Kindergarten Connection!

LexFUN!’s (Lexington Five and Under Network) Kindergarten Connection program is coordinating playdates for Lexington families with children starting public kindergarten in the Fall of 2015. These gatherings typically take place in the early summer, and are a terrific opportunity for parents and their children to meet, chat and play with other incoming kindergarteners and their families.

As part of the Kindergarten Connection program, you will receive a contact list of the other participating families at your school so that you may stay in touch and get together with your new friends over the summer. It’s a great way to ease the transition to school in the fall with familiar faces!

Then, shortly before school starts in August, ALL incoming kindergarteners at each school will be invited to a family playdate at their school playground.

We also need families to host playdates! Hosting a playdate means opening your yard or home to 6-8 families for a one time gathering, usually in June. We will work with you to coordinate a date and time and invite other families. Host families are also invited to another playdate so they may enjoy the fun as a guest as well.

If you would like to participate in Kindergarten Connection in 2015, please complete the form below. If you have questions, please feel free to e-mail Jennie Yoo, lexfunkconnection@gmail.com.
