Get Out the Vote Craft & Cocktail Event

To encourage LexFUN members to exercise their right to vote, Jen Oriel will be hosting a Get Out the Vote Craft & Cocktail Event at her home from 5:30-7:00 PM on Monday 3/3/25.

There will be crafting for the kids, cocktails for the adults, and pizza for everyone! Come hang out after you cast your vote.

This Monday, March 3rd, is Election Day for three very important local roles: School Committee, Select Board and Town Meeting.

• School Committee members determine Lexington Public Schools' policies, approve the LPS budget, and hire and evaluate the Superintendent. 

• Town Board members vote on key town decisions, including the total town budget, zoning policies, and affordable housing proposals. Town Meeting members must approve a debt exclusion by a 2/3 majority, which is how we will pay for a new LHS.

• .Select Board members make policy and oversee the operations of Town government. In order to have a Debt Exclusion vote to fund the LHS project, 4 out of the 5 members must call for it.
